Imran Bora, CFA – Founder and CIO

Imran Bora, CFA, is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of BrightSpring Investments, bringing over 25 years of experience in managing and building credit businesses through multiple economic and technical stress cycles across public and private credit markets.

Previously, Imran served as a Portfolio Manager at Brightwood Capital Advisors, where he managed a private and semi-liquid broadly syndicated loan portfolio, led portfolio construction initiatives, and represented the firm as a speaker at investment conferences. Before that, Imran was the business leader and lead portfolio manager for a $3.5 billion institutional credit portfolio at Citizens Financial Group, overseeing portfolio strategy & management, business P&L, and a large investment team.

Imran has deep expertise in regulatory matters, total return mandates, asset-liability management, portfolio construction and values transparency for internal and external stakeholders. Imran is often invited to speak at industry conferences on credit markets.

Outside of work, Imran enjoys spending time with his family, is an improv artist and is an avid marathoner.
